Ombudspersons

We strive to make OLMUN a safe space, where young students from all around the globe can grow and make memories, together. Feel free to contact us at any time via ombud@olmun.org or to approach us during the conference! No matter how small you think your concern is - we are here for you!

The Ombudspersons’ main tasks are to assemble a team of Trust Persons for the conference ahead and to develop the Awareness Concept further. In order to ensure the Trust Persons are qualified for the conference, the Ombudspersons work together with external partner organisations, so they can receive appropriate training.

They also serve as Trust Persons to the Inner Circle and can, of course, be directly addressed by any participant of the conference before, during or after OLMUN in case of whatever issue to provide quick and decisive support. The Ombudspersons (as well as the Trust Persons) are under the obligation of secrecy, therefore they are not allowed to pass down any information to anyone else. They are also not allowed to take any action without your consent (unless there is imminent danger to yourself or others), to ensure you get the help you feel comfortable with.

The implementation of the Awareness Concept, including the Trust Persons began in 2023, led by then Treasurer Marleen Schmidt and Secretary General Amélie Vocke. After the conference, the OLMUN e. V. created the positions of two Ombudspersons, who are directly elected by the main assembly, the same as the Secretariat. Since then, there have been two official Ombudspersons annually.

  • School: Cäcilienschule Oldenburg
  • Hobbies: dancing and organizing OLMUN
  • OLMUN-experienceLast year was my first time being part of OLMUN as a member of the Inner Circle, where I also took on the role of a Trust Person. From the very beginning, I was completely drawn in by the atmosphere of the conference and the Inner Circle. I met so many wonderful and dedicated people, and I can truly say that I understand what everyone means when they talk about the “OLMUN Spirit.”

My time as a Trust Person was such a valuable experience that I was very excited when I was asked to become one of the Ombudspersons for the 2026 conference. I’m especially passionate about creating a positive and comfortable environment for everyone involved, and I strongly believe that good teamwork and mutual respect are key to making OLMUN such a unique experience. Therefore I am very grateful for the possibility of making the OLMUN a safe space for all participants, together with Nantke!

I can’t wait to see everyone again this summer in Oldenburg !

  • OLMUN-experienceMy OLMUN journey began in 2025 when I joined the conference as a Trust Person and member of the Inner Circle. For 2026, I have the honour of taking on the role o f Ombudsperson,
leading the team of Trust Persons together with Thea. I feel incredibly grateful for the trust that has been placed in me and am excited to continue shaping OLMUN as a safe, supportive, and accessible space for everyone.
I look forward to sharing my experiences and contributing my
knowledge from my work with the Johanniter to further improve and
expand our awareness concept. OLMUN has shown me how much can be achieved through teamwork and empathy, and I am truly looking forward to meeting you all at OLMUN 2026!
